The Osbornes

The daughter of William Hewitt of Wales & Shireoaks married Edward Osborne and eventually William Hewitt’s manorial lands are passed down to their decendant Edward Osborne. This Edward Osborne acquired Thorpe Hall from the Sandfords in 1636 A.D.

Sir Thomas Osborne becomes Duke of Leeds, and to match his rising fortune, leaves Thorpe for his a palatial home in Kiveton Park. The Thorpe Hall was never again occupied, and fell into ruin.
